Halflong is located in the southern porting of Assam. It falls within the district of Dima Hasao. The district Dima hasao is one of the two autonomous hill districts of the state of Assam. The district headquarters. Halflong is the only hill station in Assam, a tourist destination, also nicknamed the Switzerland of the north-east.
